COALITION OF PARENTS IN ESPORTS ANNOUNCES FULL SAIL MEMBERS TO THE INDUSTRY ADVISORY BOARD
June 14, 2022 – Austin, TX – Gaming nonprofit organization Coalition of Parents in Esports (COPE) announced today the newest members of their Industry Advisory Board. Why do parents need to be involved with their childrens’ gaming passions and education from a young age? Sari Kitelyn, Esports and Project Development for Full Sail University, sums it up when she says, “Full Sail is proud to support COPE and their informative based perspective on careers and opportunities in the esports industry. Their thorough approach helps bring parents into this developing landscape, allowing families to work together to maximize opportunities for STEM minded kids.”
COPE is committed to removing esports’ outdated negative stigmas by informing parents, educators, and community leaders on how gaming can be a beneficial tool to build confidence, curiosity, community, and career aspirations by meeting kids where they are. Esports and Project Strategist for Full Sail University, Jacob Kaplan says, “As a big supporter of COPE’s philosophy, it’s an honor to join their advisory board. Their educational approach brings parents in at the beginning of a child’s esports journey, which is a key foundation to a successful career.” COPE was founded by parents who have experienced the positive benefits in their own professional esports children.
The addition of the Full Sail Armada team only bolsters the industry professionals volunteering their time to share their passion for encouraging parents to leverage gaming to connect with their child and help them grow. Bennett Newsome, Director of Esports Growth and Development at Full Sail University, explains “With the tremendous amount of opportunity that streaming can produce , I love how COPE provides resources and tools for aspiring content creators. I’m excited to support the journey of these young entrepreneurs.” Through education, support and services, COPE empowers parents and children to communicate effectively across the generational digital divide about getting their most out of interactive screen time safely.
With all these powerful new names on board, COPE will strengthen its family positive influence across the gaming community and reach more parents with what they can do to support their kids gaming for the best results. For more updates, follow COPE on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
